You’ll Never Eat Burger King Again After Reading These Horrifying Facts

After visiting the original McDonalds in California, Keith J. Kramer and his wife’s uncle, Matthew Burns opened their first Insta-Burger King restraunt in Jacksonville, Florida in 1953. 6 years later, the struggling company was bought by two of its franchisees, James McLamore and David R. Edgerton. They changed the name to Burger King and grew the company over the next 8 years to include 250+ locations. In 1967, the two men sold Burger King to the Pillsbury Company.
In 1978, the Pillsbury company hired McDonald’s executive Donald N. Smith who restructured corporate business practices, adjusted franchise agreements and created a broader menu. But sales still declined and the company was sold 4 more times.
3G Capital of Brazil, is the current owners of Burger King. In addition, they have acquired Tim Hortons, a Canadian restraunt and coffee shop with backing from Warren Buffets’ Berkshire Hathaway. This combined company interests will become the third largest international chain of fast food restraunts.
Burger King had a rough start but has survived to compete with the most popular food chains in the world. Unfortunately their food items aren’t as robust as the company has grown to be.
The top menu items are full of fat and excessive amounts of calories and other questionable ingredients.
The following ingredients are in the majority of the food items on Burger Kings’ menu.
Sugar and corn sugar (high fructose corn syrup).
Rats fed HFCS gained 300% more fat than those being fed (even slightly more amounts of) regular sugar or sugar from fruit. It also fattens your heart with bad cholesterol, causing plaque build up, leading to hypertension, heart disease and even stroke. Liver, gallbladder and kidneys process HFCS. It is highly destructive to the liver and can cause fatty liver. Scarring of the liver diminishes its ability to process out toxins that will make you sick. HFCS is also high in Mercury levels. Exposure (in young, growing children especially) can result in irreversible brain and nervous system damage.
Soy
Soy is higher in phytoestrogen than any other food. Phytoestrogens are plant based estrogen that mimic the estrogen in our body. Consuming high amounts of phytoestrogen, is the leading cause of breast cancer, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, infertility and low libido.
•Soy is also the king of cell Goitrogens (thyroid suppressors).
•Phytlates found in soy block mineral absorption.
•Also found in Soy, Trypsin inhibitors, inhibits proper digestion of protein.
•93% of Soy is genetically modified.
Partially hydrogenated soybean oil
Is an unnatural man made fat (from one of the most unhealthy oils-soybean oil) that causes cellular dysfunction. This dysfunction can cause cancer, autoimmune disease, diabetes, obesity, asthma, heart disease, bone degeneration, increased levels of “bad” cholesterol and decreased levels of “good” cholesterol, reduces immune function, creates reproductive problems and causes interference with our body’s ability to utilize omega-3 fats.

Hydrogenated Palm kernel oil
This oil is heated at a very high temperature then it is injected with a metal catalyst such as nickel, platinum or even aluminum. The molecules of this new material is one molecule away from being plastic. Eating this product can lead to high cholesterol, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, ADHD and other various emotional and physical ailments.
Flour (gluten)
Gluten can cause serious problems in people with Celiac disease and gluten sensitivities. Symptoms could include: stomach upset, asthma-like symptoms, anaphylaxis, rash, localized itching, congestion, itchy eyes and face, abdominal pain, cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, mental confusion or dizziness, weight loss, failure to thrive in young children, depression, irritability, fatigue, chronic constipation, decreased appetite, mouth sores, anemia, seizures and numbing of the hands and feet.
Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), Disodium Guanylate and Disodium Inosinate
These ingredients are used as flavor enhancers.
•MSG has been labeled as an excitotoxin because it is thought to have the ability to overstimulate cells to the point of death. Some people link MSG to headaches, flushing, poor concentration and diseases like fibromyalgia. Research has documented effects of MSG causing burning in the mouth, muscle fatigue, stomach upset, obesity and hormonal fluctuations.
•Disodium Guanylate is often derived from seaweed or fish. It is mostly harmless on its own. When it is combined with MSG and Inosinate, it is recommended to be avoided by people suffering from gout or uric acid kidney stones.
Margarine
•Very high in trans fatty acids
•Triple risk of coronary heart disease
•Increases “bad” cholesterol
•Lowers “good” cholesterol
•Increases the risk of cancers by up to five times
•Lowers quality of breast milk
•Interrupts immune response
•Decreases insulin response
•Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC
Additional food for thought:
In 2013, headlines in the UK stated “Burger King has faced allegations of orchestrating a cover-up of its links to the horsemeat scandal in order to give it time to find an alternative supplier. It has admitted selling burgers containing horsemeat.”
At the time, Burger King vice president, Diego Beamonte, said: ‘We are deeply troubled by the findings of our investigation and apologise to our guests, who trust us to source only the highest quality 100per cent beef burgers.
‘Our supplier has failed us and in turn we have failed you. We are committed to ensuring that this does not happen again.’
He added: ‘We will dedicate ourselves to determining what lessons can be learned and what additional measures, including DNA testing and enhanced traceability controls, can be taken to ensure that we continue to provide you with the quality products you expect from us.’
If the caloric and fat quantities in their food item aren’t scary enough, now we have to trust that they will preform DNA tests on the food they sell to the public? I’m disturbed that the food being served to millions of people daily should require such a thing.
