Paris terror attacks: The 25 images that define the tragedy in France

On November 13, 2015 three teams of Islamic State jihadists launched coordinated assaults on Paris leaving 129 dead and hundreds injured. Concertgoers at the Bataclan theatre, diners at several bars and restaurants and football fans at the Stade de France were among the victims in the worst-ever terror attack on French soil. Seven attackers were killed or blew themselves up during the assault, while suspected ringleader Abdelhamid Abaaoud was killed during a massive police raid on an apartment just outside Paris on Wednesday.

 US President Barack Obama met Russian President Vladimir Putin for a 30 minute discussion at the G-20 summit in Antalya, Turkey. They spoke about Syria which represented a significant change of tone between the two nations in the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks.

 Belgian Abdelhamid Abaaoud was named by a French official as the suspected mastermind of the Paris attacks. The official said he has been linked to thwarted attacks on a Paris-bound high-speed train and a church in the Paris area.
