Artist Perfectly Captures What Voters Think About “Judas” GOP Leaders

On Tuesday, after all the hoopla of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech before a joint session of Congress was over, House speaker – John Boehner – called for a vote for Department of Homeland Security funding. 

The so-called “clean bill” included funding for President Obama’s illegal executive amnesty program allowing millions more illegal aliens to remain in the U.S. and even get get tax refunds for income they didn’t earn.

Despite promising to remain firm and reject any funding for the executive amnesty, Boehner once again caved in to Democrat pressure after the Democrats in the Senate kept blocking the original bill sent to the Senate from the House. Breitbart reports:

The House of Representatives passed the Senate-passed Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill that gives tax dollars to President Obama’s executive amnesty on Tuesday. But the only way Speaker John Boehner was able to get the bill passed was by teaming up with Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and her Democrats.

Yes, that’s right.  The only way the Republican Speaker of the House was able to get his bill passed was by getting all the Democrats to vote for it – so bad was the bill for most Republicans.  Breitbart explains:

A whopping 167 House Republicans—an astounding number—voted against the DHS bill that funds Obama’s amnesty. The vote, a clear signal of no-confidence in Boehner, came after a vigorous debate on the House floor.

The debate, which saw a highly-unusual three sides, featured Democrats in favor of the bill, Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID)—Boehner’s buddy, representing Republicans in favor of the bill, and scores of Republicans opposed to the bill–represented by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).

In passing a Republican bill without the majority of Republican members in agreement, Boehner has broken a tradition of the House started by one of his predecessors.  The Hill.com reports:

More than half of House Republicans voted against the measure, thereby breaking the so-called “Hastert rule” that all bills pass with a majority of the majority. The rule is named after former Speaker Denny Hastert (R-Ill.).

But, apparently Boehner didn’t care about breaking that tradition.

Only 75 Republicans voted for the bill – most of them in Boehner’s leadership circle and RINO moderates.  Who are these 75 Republicans who have betrayed the American people who put them into office?  The Hill.com provides the list:

Perhaps these squishy moderates need to hear from their constituents in great numbers. 

Having the majority in Congress should mean something. Apparently, Speaker Boehner and his lap dogs just don’t get it.
