Parents Can’t Name Their Child ‘Nutella,’ French Court Says

French judges ruled that one set of parents must rename their recently-born baby.
The parents originally named the baby name “Nutella” when she was born in September.
A judge later ruled that the name was not in the child’s best interest according to a report in the newspaper La Voix Du Nord.
“The name ‘Nutella’ given to the child is the trade name of a spread,” according TIME and their  translations of the court’s decision. “And it is contrary to the child’s interest to be wearing a name like that can only lead to teasing or disparaging thoughts.”
The parents failed to show up to court in November and the judged renamed the baby Ella.

  1. Let's just call the judge "Nuts" and let parents name their child whatever they wish. None of the court's business. France is proving that they do not hold true to liberte', equalite', et fraternite' - it's just a Marxist facade.

  3. In the not so distant past, thousands of American girls were named Fanny. Imagine that! I once dated a country girl who often wore a flour-sack dress with "Early Riser" emblazoned across her dress tail.
