KFC worker fired after posting disturbing photo of herself pretending to lick a tub of mashed potatoes in kitchen

Another day, another lesson on things you should not share on social media. A KFC employee was fired after posting a photo on Facebook of her licking (or getting really close to licking) a tub of mashed potatoes.

This photo got serious traction on social media, prompting many, many comments from people condemning and defending the woman in the picture.

KFC spokesman Rick Maynard said this food was not served.
“Nothing is more important to KFC than food safety,” Maynard wrote in his email. “As soon as our franchisee became aware of the issue, immediate action was taken. The franchisee’s investigation confirmed the photos were taken after the restaurant was closed and none of the food was served. The employee involved was immediately terminated.”
Maynard went on to say that KFC Corporation sent operations and quality assurance teams to the North Roan Street restaurant to “reinforce and retrain on KFC’s high operating standards.
While this food safety incident is on the milder side -- especially since the food was never served -- there have been several similar scandals involving fast food and social media. Last year, a Burger King employee posted a photo of himself stomping in lettuce. And who could forget the Taco Bell employee that urinated on nachos?
